What is a CV Profilor?

The doctor just ordered a CV Profilor for you. Just what exactly is that? A CV Profilor is a simple, non-invasive test that takes about 5 minutes and gives us a direct measurement of the amount of hardening in your arteries.  The whole point of treating conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, and diabetes is that we are trying to prevent hardening in the arteries, which in turn leads to heart attacks and strokes.  This test can help us to determine who is at the most risk and therefore who would benefit the most from more aggressive therapies such as medications.
